Mission Complete:
Had 18 bikes on the escort from Carroll. Thanks to SFC Kots from the Carroll Armory for letting us in to warm up.Thanks to SSG Merrit for providing the coffee and donuts. The 3 buses were right on time and pulled into the armory for a restroom break and to return the PGR flag given to them during the sendoff.I had a gentleman who asked if he could ride side by side with me at the front. He was riding his son's v-rod , and his son was one of the soldiers returning.Seems his son wanted to start riding as soon as he got to Denison.I of course was in complete agreement with this. All the small towns on our 30 mile trip had school children standing along the highway with flags and cheers for our boys. The escort ended at the Crawford County Speedway in Denison. With an eruption of cheers from the crowd in the grandstand , we escorted the troops right into the infield , passing below a huge flag suspended from a fire department ladder truck , (thanks guys). Our mission being complete , we enjoyed the ceremony and the thank you's from many who were in attendance.I have in my possession a PGR flag that was sent with these guys at the send off. What I don't know is who it belongs to.If no one claims it , what shall I do with it?
